Home 4 April 2014

Last month on 17 February 2014, the Media Industry, readers and staff of Tuis / Home and family and friends of editor Anneke Blaise woke up to the news of her sudden passing after a short illness with Cancer.

In the April 2014 issue of Tuis and Home, readers will be holding in their hands the last issue which Anneke was part of (but not directly involved in at the very end). They’ll also find this issue, their “White Issue”, dedicated to Anneke. This from their “In Loving Memory” page to celebrate to life of Anneke (see page below);

“This edition, our white issue, is the last Home (and Tuis) that Anneke, our editor, planned a couple of months ago. It’s so fitting, because putting a splash of white paint onto any surface was her ultimate home fix.

She didn’t get to read the features, look at layouts or our cover options but her influence remains and will always be manifest in all we do. We home we’ve made you proud, Anneke – this issue is dedicated to you. You remain our inspiration…”

I’ve included below the beautiful letter that Deputy and Digital Editor Rhoda Davids has written to “Dearest Anneke”, and I’m sure it will really touch the hearts of not only her close friends and colleagues, but also that of her readers…

And on the very last page, where Niël Stemmet has a monthly column, he has also dedicated his column to Anneke. (I haven’t included the high res version of this page.)

Truly a beautiful issue, and definitely one that Anneke would be proud of…

  3. What a beautiful woman. Seems so unfair that she still had so much to give and so much to live. My heart goes out to her family and friends xxx
